Kurbys Original Music

I spend my winters away, in the South!

So here I am, wandering around Puerto Escondido, looking for tunes.

All I hear is Expat bands doing the same 40-50 year old Classic rock that we all love so much.

Once in a while they hit a good grove and I see all the cool people next door start to dance and stuff, but even, I want more.

So I asked the main guy, “Hey dude I’ve got a couple rockin songs, could I do one with your band”. He says “sure”.

A little later. I’m talking to the younger rhythm guitar player and tell him the 4 chords and it really easy jam song – Dealer in Love.

So anyways – the guy calls me up and I signal the guitar player who starts but singer shuts him down and says “no, it’s not a cover song. “

So I tried to leave but he calls me back and says sing La grange with him. I should have kept walking but it’s hardly a duet.

Anyways it’s been like that everywhere here.

There’s a bar here called “The  BABYLON”, that actually has refreshing rock music in Spanish and originals in English and some great girl harp (Harmonica) players.

I really dig it. But they shut down all live music by 12 then the very loud  BOOM BOOM BOOM dance music starts in all the clubs till 4AM.

Very scenic but again get a fucking drummer. LMAO – whatever keeps the pretty girls shakin is all good with me.

But new bands be weird, take chances and just find the Groove and ROCK IT!!!!!
